I can report that all is fine and dandy in Happymeat land. :)
May was filled with deadlines, and in june I took a really long and relaxing vacation away from my computer. We went to visit friends and relatives, relax at our cabin in the woods, taking long swims in the lake there, garage sale shopping, cake eating, barbecuing, eating super sweet black cherries from the trees behind my grandmothers house, and loads more.
It`s good to feel the batteries filling up for winter.

We also went to the allotment gardens and "ooh" and "aah"`ed over the beautiful little houses and the fruit and veggie filled gardens. Yes, I am an old lady, ha ha.
Next year I`ll fill my balcony with beans, herbs, salads and tomatoes, and hopefully I will get a nice crop by next fall.

Oh, well back to business. I have a big show coming up in september here in Oslo that I am currently working on. Details on that will be published later this week.

It was heaven I`m telling you!
The best summer weather, hand made chocolates, Belgian waffles, trips to Brugges, Gent and the Star Wars exhibition (Rune`s goal for the trip). So nice to just walk around looking at all the amazing architecture, medieval castles and canals. We also went back to our favorite chocolate shop in Gent that we visited seven years ago. I have been dreaming of the caramel truffles they make there for years, and finally we got to taste them again. And they were even better than I remembered! Oh, yum! They even have a glass window in the floor so that you can see down to the chocolate factory in the basement. So cool.

I even found some amazing old photos in an old postcard shop for my "found pictures" collection. I will post some of them here as soon as I get them scanned. The rest I will post on flickr.

I also found a mushroom for my mushroom collection, but it was made of chocolate (of course) and I ate it before I could take a picture. :)
So therefore I`m posting the pride of my mushroom collection here as a replacement. It`s my favorite antique mushroom book that I bought in Utrect last year. I just looove this cover!

Stockholm, we meet again!

Tomorrow I hop on a train that will take me all the way back to Stockholm again. I decided to travel with the train all the way to Stockholm this time to get to see a little of the countryside, and to get to listen to my ever growing collection of audiobooks and podcasts.
I will also pack up a big box of scrumptious food, and just munch and relax.

My mission this time is to attend the Kolla! seminar and award ceremony. Since I am the only foreign jury member, my job is to stand up on stage and give away flowers and prizes to the winners together with Bosse, who will announce the winners.:)

I can`t wait to see the other jury members again, and to finally see the faces and people behind all that amazing work that was sent in.

Going to Sweden again made me think of some golden oldies I saw on TV as a kid.

Like Jätten Jorm. He is the coolest, I love his cloud hat. :)
The one that always made me hide behind the sofa (yes, superscary) was Vilse i Pannkakan. Allthough there is some months since we moved everything in, there has been so much to do. But during my easter holiday now, I hope every thing will finally be in it`s place. What a wonderful and inspiering trip!
The jury work was so interesting, and it is so wonderful to get to know and discuss illustration with such talented and nice people. It was also so inspireing and fun to see all the great illustration work that had been sent in.

I also got to see some of the city aswell, but the more I explored, the more I realized that I had to go back again sometime soon and show it all to Rune, and explore some more. I found so many nice vintage shops and nice areas, and I will share some of it here just in case any of you plan to visit Stockholm some day.

First off is the shop where I found the beautiful rings and brooches in the picture above called Baccus Antik. The shop was packed with stunning mid century scandinavian porcelain, pottery, lighting and furniture. Although it was too pricey for my budget, it is well worth a visit.

Baccus Antik
Upplandsgatan 46
113 28 Stockholm
Sweden

Upplandsgatan is a really nice street with lots of wonderful vintage and antique shops. Most of the shops here are somewhat pricey, but bargains can be made if you have the patience to look though everything. Other very nice shops on the same street are:

Artifex Antik
Upplandsgatan 46
113 28 Stockholm
Sweden
(also mid cent. items)

Antique & Curiosashopen
Upplandsgatan 44
113 28 Stockholm
Sweden
(more romatic anticue items and art deco)

Evensen Antik
Upplandsgatan 48
113 28 Stockholm
Sweden
www.evensenantik.se
(more shabby chic kind if items)

Old Touch
Upplandsgatan 43
113 28 Stockholm
Sweden
www.oldtouch.se
(very nice store woth vintage clothing, jewelry, porcelain, paper, buttons and everythig a girl would want)

And then there were the most incredible store of them all, called Epok. When I entered the store there was a postcard put up on the door that said: "I don`t want a pension, I want passion!". This sounds good I thought to myself, and went in. The store was filled with so many nice things! Vintage clotes, lace, gloves, figurines, jewelry, glass and porcelain. And of course the lovely owner herself Agneta swirling around. I just wanted to pull up a chair and sit there all day. When I asked for a card (I am so bad at remembering addresses and locations), she said she did not have any, but she made me one. And when she gave it to me, she said: "I`m on youtube aswell, go check it out." And I just love this lady, go see for yourself. Isn`t she amazing? The store is located at:

Epok
Odensgatan 83
Stockholm
Sweden

For more pictures on my trip to Sweden, go visit my flickr.
